Chancel Renovation Project

... is nearing completion. Soon we will move out of the Fellowship Hall back to the Sanctuary. Thank you to all who have given financial help for the additional construction-related expenses. Gifts are still welcome!

School Supplies Drive 2016

Many thanks to everyone who donated school supplies for Longdale Elementary School. We took over 15 grocery bags and a couple of boxes of donations to Longdale and the staff was greatly appreciative. We'll be doing this again in January.Your contributions are always appreciated.

Because there were numerous people who answered the call to help, our church will be able to host CARITAS again this year September 24 through October 1.

Since it takes a whole church to have a successful week, there will be lots of opportunities to help.  If you would like to donate money, we hope to find a laundry facility to wash and fold our guests’ clothes. There will be other needs, so we hope you will be led to volunteer.

One thing everyone is asked to do is pray for the success of this mission project. We’ve set a limit of 24 CARITAS guests and we’ll be calling on those who gave us their names during the survey to volunteer. But all are welcome to help out. See Adamarye Patteson to volunteer.

Flood Relief Buckets: Greenwood contributed five buckets and enough money for four more. Thanks!

Food Donation Connection

Greenwood continues to help feed the hungry in Glen Allen through our distribution of free food every Friday at 6 p.m.

Food is collected from participating restaurants by church members. The September pick up rotation schedule is posted in the narthex and available online here.

As the people of God, we are called to develop our faith through the understanding of God’s love and to be a church dedicated to prayer.

We believe that Christ is calling us to serve by being present and welcoming to all, regardless of ethnic, cultural or economic background.

God calls us to give our time, talent and monetary resources to proclaim effectively the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
