Dwight! – Dwight Zavitz, a retired elder in the Virginia Annual Conference, has been appointed as our interim pastor through June. He will be serving on a part-time basis. He will be preaching each Sunday and tending to pastoral needs here until Annual Conference when a permanent appointment will be made. In case of a pastoral need, please call Dwight on his cell phone at 804-380-2852. Greenwood welcomes Dwight and Patti! Rockin’ Wednesdays – Starting February 22, a new outreach program for children age 5 through middle school: Rockin’ Wednesdays! We’ll have a free dinner, songs, crafts and Bible stories. Volunteer to have fun helping teach or with the food. Every Wednesday, 5:30 — 7 p.m. in the Education Building. To volunteer contact Adamayre Patteson at 804-266-6364 or Anita Mays at 804-536-8350. Be there or be square! Ash Wednesday Service – Wednesday, February 22, 7 p.m. at Greenwood. Lenten Bible Study - Starts Sunday, February 26, 5 p.m. at Laurel Park. FunRaiser’s Bag Lunch – after worship services on Sunday, February 26. Chili, corn bread, fruit cup and Toll House cookies. Only $7 per lunch. February Ministry Focus – The Boy Scouts of America, especially troop 751 which is sponsored by Greenwood. We encourage you to pray for for Troop 751, its program, its members, and its leaders. Troop 751 meets on Monday evenings at Greenwood. Click here for more information. Scout Sunday will be observed at Greenwood during the February 26 worship service. Easter Eggs - The Ruth Circle’s world famous candy Easter eggs, hand dipped in chocolate and decorated will be available again this year. Fillings come in 3 flavors: peanut butter, coconut, and cream. Cost is $4.50 for a half-pound decorated egg. You can also buy quarter pound eggs (peanut butter only) for $2.50 and these will be donated. Place your order with any member of the Ruth Circle by March 18. Circle members will decorate the eggs in the Fellowship Hall kitchen at 9:00 a.m.on Saturday March 24, with pizzas and tossed salad at the lunch. Volunteers are welcome!
