Christmas Card Exchange 2023
This Holiday Season we continue a Greenwood tradition of exchanging Christmas greetings with other members of the church family, and saving some money on postage.
Bring your Christmas cards, addressed to other folks in the congregation, to the church by Sunday, Dec. 17 and drop them in the designated box in the narthex. You can pick up the cards other people have addressed to you on Sunday, Dec. 24 before or after worship services.
No postage required.
Gifts for the Baby Jesus
Here at Greenwood UMC, it has been our tradition to honor the birth of the Christ child with a special offering during the month of December.
For this special Christmas offering on Sunday, Dec. 10, we will take time, just as the Wise Men did thousands of years ago, to bring our gifts to the baby Jesus.
A representative of each Greenwood family is asked to bring their gift in a white envelope to be placed at the altar. This special gift will not be taken with the regular offering but at a special time in our worship service.
We ask you to pray about this and respond as you feel led. These funds go to various needs both in the church and as part of our outreach to the community.
Greenwood has a dedicated email address for prayer requests. Email your prayer needs to email@example.com. Pastor TaeWon checks this email inbox daily. All email requests are in strict confidence.
Making a Joyful Noise!
Greenwood's choir invites you to be a part of Greenwood's music ministry praising God in song during worship services. The choir rehearses every Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. in the Greenwood choir room. Join them and make a joyful noise unto the Lord!

Greenwood depends upon the generous giving of its people, not only for mission work and outreach but for more mundane things like keeping the lights on and paying for heating oil. Consider what the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 9:7—8:
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need.“
There are several ways you can make your regular donations if you can't make it to Sunday services:
Mail your checks to the church office. If you want to include a donation to some ministry like CARITAS, please indicate the ministry and the amount on the memo line of your check .
Drop your donation by the church office during office hours: Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cash App is discontinued.
